MS Project

Designed as the ideal follow-up to Project Management!

The two days combined will provide you with the skills and knowledge to successfully manage projects. Our Project Management course covers the fundamentals of project management and explores how these can be incorporated to improve current work practice. MS Project will introduce you to the software application Microsoft Project, a useful and popular project management tool used for business project planning, scheduling tasks, managing resources, monitoring fees and generating reports. The course will introduce you to the tools used to manage projects using Microsoft Project. You will explore the ways that you can use the software to manage resources for efficient execution of projects. Microsoft Project 2016 is used in this course.

Prerequisite knowledge for this course:

  • considerable knowledge of your computer's operating system, file management and keyboard layout
  • a basic understanding of the theories and concepts of project management are essential.

On completing this course you will have:

  • defined the content and building the project plan
  • started a new project file and setting the project
  • set the calendar to reflect the work schedule
  • recorded and re-arranged the project tasks and recurring tasks
  • added sub-tasks, linked related tasks and set task dependencies
  • entered milestones to identify significant events
  • set lag and lead times and constraining dates
  • built a resource list and created resource calendars for the resources.
